The apex Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, yesterday said that Nigerian Fulanis are not known for tribalism, hence, they will cast their votes for a Nigerian that would transform their lives and the entire country.
The March 28 presidential election is a two-horse race between incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, who is Ijaw, from South-South Nigeria and Muhammadu Buhari, a Fulani, from the Northwest region.
National president of the association, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, made this position known shortly after meeting with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Sen. Bala Mohammed, in Abuja.
According to Bodejo, Fulanis are spread all over Nigeria and they can speak the language of any community they find themselves.
“We are not known for tribalism; our members are in the six geo-political zones because of the nature of their business; we believe in one Nigeria. So, we are going to vote for the person that knows our plight.
“Nobody will come and deceive us and use tribalism to make us vote for someone that will bring the country backward”, he added.
The Fulani leader further said that he stands on his earlier pledge to mobilise all Fulanis to join politics, adding that his promise of 23million votes to President Goodluck Jonathan still stands to enable him win the presidential election.
