 Benue State Deputy Governor-Elect, Engr. Benson Abounu attended a church service in his home town of Otukpo yesterday.
The service was lead by Archbishop Oliver Abah of Norcross Memorial Methodist Cathedral Otukpo preaching from the books of Acts 3:12- 19 and John 3:1-7 described the deputy governor elect as a true Methodist ambassador and there for advice him to always have the fear of God when officially inaugurated.
He further stated that, though Nigerians are asking for change, he feels the change should start from the church, He  also said leadership is of the lord and warned those who have contributed to the victory of the party not to rush over night change as that will harm the good intentions of the new government. He said change is a gradual thing and with time every aspiration of Benue citizens will be actualized.
The deputy governor Elect in response said, he had not yet come for thanksgiving as he hope to come with the Governor-Elect, Dr Samuel Ortom on a later date. He appreciated the church for their immense prayers and support during the campaign period saying he will not disappoint them. 
Subsequently, the Muslim community in Otukpo paid the Deputy Governor-Elect a courtesy visit in his country home of Otukpo-icho. The delegation lead by Alhaji Mallam Mahammuda said they were there to congratulate him and the Governor-Elect for their victory in the just concluded elections and promised to work closely with the new government. Engr. Abounu on his part appreciated them for coming and also promised that the new government will carry them along to ensure peaceful coexistence.
